Offerings of Tiny-ness

Years ago, I used to have a buyable floor made from the image of the plywood that- by default, anyway- shows up when you use the brick foundation. It was set to $0, and was amazingly useful for when you need the floor in place to arrange furniture, but didn't want to waste money on temporary flooring or by forgetting to sell said flooring back before replacing it with a better option. There are always those stubborn bits that won't sell back from under lights, doors and furniture, as well. In one of my many purges, this floor apparently went out the window.

All-Elf-Eared Face Templates [TEST RELEASE]

In order to explain the 'test release' part, I must unfortunately be a downer: my cat had to be put down due to very sudden and severe lung problems on April 10th, and my want to do much of anything creative since has gone out the window. He would've been eleven years old only five days after he died, and I'd had him since he was six weeks old. I still haven't gotten his ashes back from the crematorium yet, and the whole situation's really playing havoc on my already limited powers of concentration.

With that said, the templates I have finished (01 - 27 softened Maxis with Fantasyrogue Rhys ears + alien with FR's Wolf ears) is here to be downloaded AS-IS, because it's taken me ages to get them to this point and I'm honestly in no mood to methodically breed and age-up dozens of sims in a test environment. I do, however, have some shots of my pony neighborhood.

March 2011 Floor and Wall Dump

Oh god, that sounds awful. Nevertheless--

I have a certain stable of Maxis and custom walls and floors that I love going back to again and again, but... well, I'm always wanting them in colors that just don't exist in the original downloads, or Maxis thought one color should be enough for every possible purpose. So after having recently reinstalled my game and HomeCrafter, I finally got the motivation to borrow from CuriousB's AnyColorYouLike palette and Pooklet's naturals, and do something about these shortages.

Forgive me if this post is less than elegant. I just spent two hours typing up a much more descriptive one, but DW fucking autosaved RIGHT AFTER a mistake in HTML and wiped out THE WHOLE FUCKING THING.

So we will be working in mostly photos and notes as they're needed. Goddamn it.

Update on the face templates: they're not dead. slightlycrazed has been doing an outside testing for me, and I was able to look at them right after a reinstall with no CC - neither of us got the errors while trying to load lots that I was initially getting, which strongly suggests that it wasn't the faces but something in my hacks causing the problems. I highly suspect it may also have been my own fault for incorrectly trying to empty the neighborhood templates before doing the reinstall, but I digress. I want to do a little more in-game testing and hopefully some sim breeding first, but the whole situation is looking far more promising for sharing soon. On top of which, AlfredAskew and Fantasyrogue have both giving sharing the faces their okays, once the set's ready <3

As you can tell by the sudden absence of several images here - including my header and my lovely two-piece self-promotional buttons in my GoS signature - the related photobucket account that is hosting them has exceeded its bandwidth. This is actually the first time I've ever had a PB account (I have three) do such a thing. What could have caused this phenomenon?

I used this particular account to host the preview shots for my advent day on GoS. The thread overall appears to be far more active than I had anticipated. Whoops.

Anyhow, I'm going to reload the advent pics to another host, but the pictures that are missing here will remain in place and should return around January 1st or so. I'm still trying to work on my secret santa project, have already lost two days' time to moving furniture at home and don't feel like wasting a third swapping pictures around to solve a temporary problem.

My apologies if you came, looking to download and cannot see something that piqued your interest, but the advent calendar has killed a third of my online visibility XD

Late to the Retro Party

Between packing up a TARDIS-like townhouse and moving its contents across state lines, I've completely missed out on contributing to GoS' Retro 20th Centry theme. This bums me, but does not prevent me from making things on my own, of course. I was hoping to come up with things that were more based throughout the 1910s, 20s, 30s and early 40s.

Why I'm posting about this here is I'd like some suggestions from other interested parties on what sort of things would make a room look appropriate for any of the above mentioned periods for you. Clocks? Radios? Vases? Essential furniture? If you know of a picture of what you have in mind, that'd be great, too. But yeah, looking for suggestions. I found a couple weeks ago that lileks.com has a whole section of the site dedicated to commercial artwork and photos from the 30s, so I've been trying to glean inspiration from that.

My strengths, such as they are, lie with deco objects and simple furniture, maybe head accessories - hairs and clothing are out of my league. I can't guarantee that I'll make every suggestion or give an ETA on when it'll get done, but I definitely want to make up for the lost month. Some of the things I've already been considering are some manner of Hoosier cabinet, top-motor refrigerators, older stoves, that kind of thing, so if you either want to elaborate on these or suggest other objects from the first forty-five years, please feel free!

Once GoS is back, be prepared! An entry on jenfold's journal doth declare the winning theme to be the Apocalypse! So go ahead and plot out your goodies to make your sims' lives hell, since none of us can throttle TSR 'cause it doesn't have a corporeal form and stuff. Living well is the best revenge, so think up something awesome to make them seeth with jealousy that you are a free creator and they aren't getting a dime for your superior talents.

And if you know any GoSlings who don't hang around LJ or DW, do let them know, as well.

This is a set of mostly decorative plant and outdoors-y meshes I put together for GardenOfShadows' April theme. But, the Sims Resource have decided to be assholes and try to shut GoS down by lying to GoS' site host service - since this stuff was only linked to from the theme topic, and the site is in fact down a the moment, I'll be adding the stuff here for accessibility.

All of these meshes, except for the Maxis tree, are Squeenix-made and extracted from the Crisis Core game, itself. All I did was make them work in a TS2 format.
