Forgive me if this post is less than elegant. I just spent two hours typing up a much more descriptive one, but DW fucking autosaved RIGHT AFTER a mistake in HTML and wiped out THE WHOLE FUCKING THING.

So we will be working in mostly photos and notes as they're needed. Goddamn it.

All colors and emblems matched as well as possible to Year 1 and 2 My Little Ponies. If you're unfamiliar with horse toys of the 1980s, I highly recommend checking the linked site out. It's awesomely informative, and can tell you what custom hair colors ponies should have, until I get around to making a swatch graphic (and, you know, actual hair recolors.)

Sunbeam is actually Snuzzle in this example. The blue and yellow combo threw me off. All sims are/will be shown without make-up.

Note on Bowtie skin: children and TM-EM have just the bowtie as shown, while toddlers and TF-EF have the hanging bow tails, as well. All emblems are visible with most underwear and swimsuits. All skins are towniefied, but NOT geneticized. I figured with the emblems, an "in-between" skin would look more like having an affair than blending the colors. "Aw, the baby's so cute! It looks just like- hey... where the hell'd this apple come from?!"

Note on Snuzzle skin: it's been fixed and now has ALL of the proper textures. Stupid oversight on my part.

All 'families' here except Medley are unicorns. Medley, Firefly and Tiffany are pegasus ponies. They will eventually have horn and wing accessories, and tail accessories with Pooklet textures. All ages and genders, of course.

I was going to try to make Minty's skin a plantsim default, but after thinking about it, Aquilegia's vines-only overlays would work quite well in the style of the TwiceAsFancy ponies (don't judge me for knowing so much about MLP, man.) AlmightyHat's tree bark overlays would work that way, too.

Tiffany skin is also available as an alien default, with Yuxi's white Geraldine gemstone eyes (from the GoS 2010 Advent; they look silver/gray in-game, and as a set, those eyes are wonderful to use for more realistic Twinkle Eyes.) The skin is meant to go along with a new alien face that will be included with my replacement set (er... you're looking at it. hee,) but will of course work no matter which alien face you're using. It's a single default, though, and I don't know if or how it would work with a Multi-PT hack. I never have many abductions in my game, so I really only need one PT. More supernaturals are in the works, but I haven't gotten them tested in-game yet.

I'm still not sure whether to use these, since the towniefied skins do pop up on their own, or let my townies run around in natural skins like a 'wild' herd, but the set of defaults is done and ready, for anyone who does want to use it. Appropriately enough, there were four ponies in the original collection, so the numbers were too perfect to not make a set. The values are prismatic, as I didn't know how else to logically arrange them.

But we're not done yet for today!

Applejack and Bowtie need white freckles to be wholly accurate, so I used Jessi's alphas to make a few. Nine, to be precise. I didn't alter her alphas at all, I only made the base colors white. I felt the masks would be better than applying only one freckle pattern to the actual skin, so if, say, a Bowtie bred with a Medley, the Medley can 'inherit' freckles, if the player wants. Or the Bowtie baby could lose the freckles. Either way.

Also in the name of accuracy and optional 'genetics', Bubbles and Seashell need forehead blazes. Depending on the shape of a sim's nose, the large blaze may distort a little when viewed from the side, but the small one stays pretty consistent. Both the freckles and the blazes are layerable with other make-up and each other, but not with themselves.

FINALLY. AND FOR THE SECOND TIME. Shall we download now?

Many, many thanks to GaLaxy for my (still) favorite skin sets, Yuxi for the awesome eyes, CuriousB for the color actions (even if I mutilated them through adjustments,) Jessi for the freckle alphas, and Kimberly's Dream Valley for all the reference!

--------------------------------------

Update on the face templates: they're not dead. slightlycrazed has been doing an outside testing for me, and I was able to look at them right after a reinstall with no CC - neither of us got the errors while trying to load lots that I was initially getting, which strongly suggests that it wasn't the faces but something in my hacks causing the problems. I highly suspect it may also have been my own fault for incorrectly trying to empty the neighborhood templates before doing the reinstall, but I digress. I want to do a little more in-game testing and hopefully some sim breeding first, but the whole situation is looking far more promising for sharing soon. On top of which, AlfredAskew and Fantasyrogue have both giving sharing the faces their okays, once the set's ready <3

Oh damn. I was trying to keep my cartoony/maxis-ish style 'hood down to just nilou skins/colored nilou skins, but this is SO tempting! Maybe these would blend in well? :3
